In Batman: Mad Love, deception is abundant in the
relationship between Harley Quinn and the Joker. In the beginning of the story,
the pair meet when Harley is assigned as Joker’s psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum.
Harley’s colleagues think that the Joker is a lost cause, but Harley believes that
she can fix the Joker by deceiving him into taking steps to rehabilitation.

However,
Harley Quinn does not realize the Joker is scheming to make her love him and
do his bidding.
Harley never stops believing that she can help the Joker
rehabilitate, and the Joker stays one step ahead and continues to keep her
believing in such a thing.
